The Photographer
Image Copyright © Harold Wingo Harold Wingo is an American Large Format Landscape Photographer, born in Kentucky, with 42 years of photographic experience. His work has been exibited in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich, Germany as well as Vicenza, Italy; also his work has been exibited in the US and Canada.

He swept the 1999 European competition placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in Black & White, Color, and Experimental categories. As a follow-up, in 2000 he won 1st and 2nd place in the Armed Forces world wide competition. Two pieces of his work are archived in the Smithsonian.

He was married to his wife in Denmark and has lived or worked in 36 countries. While living in Germany he studied for 5 years under one of Germany's leading Foto Meisters. After leaving Germany, he moved to Southeast Alaska and lived on Prince of Wales Island where he spent 4 years advancing his knowledge in Large Format Landscape Photography.

He earned undergraduate degrees from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky and earned his Doctorate from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.

Having moved from Prince of Wales, Alaska he now resides with his wife in Anchorage, Alaska where he continues to photograph the "The Last Fronter" while working full time for the US ARMY.
